PTSDTrauma is existential in that it causes us to challenges our beliefs about other people, ourselves and the world. It can rob us of the ability to trust and feel safe. Sometimes, it leads to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). As a trauma and PTSD specialist, I utilize specialized tools such as EMDR and Dialectic Behavior Therapy to help you recover from the flashbacks, nightmares, and other PTSD symptoms.

First RespondersPolice officers, firefighters and emergency medical services personnel face unique challenges: long and irregular work hours…difficult and dangerous calls. This often leads to depression, anxiety, and even burnout. As a former First Responder, I have walked in those shoes. And now, as a therapist, I’m dedicated to helping other First Responders strengthen their resiliency.

Military and VeteransLike First Responders, active and retired military members have faced challenging, tragic and dangerous situations that most civilians will hopefully never experience. Those who run to the danger are prone to develop PTSD and, after completing their military service, difficulties readjusting to civilian life. It’s my privilege to work with members of all military branches in helping them find their way back.

AddictionAddiction is not moral failure or weakness. It is partly a brain wiring issue, which means it’s neurodivergence. In my practice, the only label you have is…Human Being. Addiction often runs concurrent with other things like depression, anxiety, and trauma. I provide integrated treatment of all issues. My approach includes Harm Reduction, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and other empirically supported methods.

CouplesRelationships can be challenging. Learning to live together includes accepting and embracing each other’s uniqueness and how we are similar and how we are different. It’s also about learning to weather life stressors that include child rearing, family of origin issues, finances, and others. One of the techniques I use to help couples is Family Systems Therapy along with CBT and other tools.
